Right on cue isn’t it? They want to tap into our resources. If you didn’t already do so, read: A major gold-silver discovery has just been confirmed in Coromandel, NZ … and that region’s about to be hit (again) by another cyclone. (And it was, now a week on, with Coromandel worst hit).
The “CE of the New Zealand Minerals Council identified antimony and tungsten as byproducts of gold mining which had yet to be produced..” However Kiwis, don’t worry she says … “it does not mean there will suddenly be a lot more mines”. That is so reassuring.

UPDATE: 7.30am Sat. 11th April … it appears the cyclone’s been downgraded to ‘low’ according to this weather link @ 1:18am. Good news. Nevertheless, warnings are still in place so do stay prepared!

Someone recently brought to light for me a video featuring even richer gold (and silver) resources contained in the Coromandel than were previously thought.
The Coromandel is an area that frequently features in our adverse weather reports including flooding and slips (see here and here). A NZ weather channel is currently highlighting the area as a major recipient of approaching cyclone Vaianu (purple areas) including those featured recently in this article.
